Tehran, YJC. Commander of the IRGC Marine has said that Iran is able to expose US marine facilities to military threats.
Sepah News reported that Ali
Fadavi said "Today, all US marine facilities are under threat by us, but we
have not based our
policies on pressure and vexation.”
He added "At the time of Iran-Iraq war the US directly engaged in war with us. Our forces entered the Persian Gulf to create the same situation they had created in Shalamcheh and Al-Faw. But this time it was not against the Iraqi, but the American. The US warship and helicopter were blown out and they passively set for bombing our oil platforms, oil tankers, and passenger airplanes.”
He asserted "We do not doubt the enemy’s intention to stop the growth of the Islamic Revolution. We believe that confrontation with the enemy is a serious confrontation. The battle front is not necessarily one of military killing. The sanctions, soft war, and other forms which the enemy has adopted to cope with the Iranian nation’s call for independence and esteem are clear indications of enmity.”
