Tehran, YJC. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has met with staff of the Iranian national wrestling team to discuss issues around the top Iranian sport.
Attending the final night of the 2013 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup to give the winners their awards, Mr. Ahmadinejad said to the Iranian champions "You stand at the peak. Wrestling is a sport of the chivalrous.”

The President also provided comments on the exclusion of wrestling from the Olympic Games and said "The reason for doing so is that some who hold offices could easily gain the high points, which I do not think they could.”
The President said "I tell you to be ready for the Olympic Games from this moment. I will write a letter concerning the exclusion of wrestling from the Olympic Games.”

Ahmadinejad further said that currently the Iranian Wrestling Team stands at its peak and added "You must be careful so they do not pull you down from where you are.
