TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The two sides inked the document at the end of a work group session attended by deputy governors of central banks of Iran and Russia and Iranian Envoy to Russia Mehdi Sanaie.
Earlier in March, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in a meeting in Moscow issued a joint statement to broaden mutual cooperation in various fields.
The 16-page joint statement themed 'Moving forward to Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation' covers vast areas of cooperation.
President Rouhani, heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation, visited Moscow late March for a two-day visit upon an invitation by his Russian counterpart to hold talks on bilateral ties and sign a total of 15 cooperation pacts.
Iranian and Russian officials had already examined the ways for boosting trade transactions between the two countries ahead of Rouhani’s visit.
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh and a group of senior managers of the Russian private companies in their meeting in the Russian capital discussed facilitating the export of Iranian goods to Russia.
The Russian managers voiced their willingness to increase the volume of their imports of the Iranian goods.
Nematzadeh also met Russia's energy managers and the country’s bus factories.
During the meetings, the two sides examined ways to promote industrial and energy ties.
