TEHRAN, November 23 - Iranian Ambassador to France Aboulghasem Delfi said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is likely to visit France in December.

Rouhani likely to visit France for climate change summitTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Dr. Rouhani will probably visit France in December for climate change summit,” he said in an interview with France 24 TV Channel.

The conference is scheduled for December 12.

France has invited Iran to the summit, he said, adding Iran is investigating the invitation.

Iran is cooperating with France based on interests of the two sides which have considerably grown since the JCPOA, he said, adding, Iran is doing based on key regional position and role of the two sides.

He said that visits and phone calls by presidents of the two countries have done well in boosting bilateral ties and reducing tensions in the Middle East and Persian Gulf.

The envoy noted that French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian was supposed to visit Iran on November 20, but his visit postponed following French request and because of his unexpected visit to Myanmar to monitor human rights situation there.

The visit has been postponed and not cancelled.
