TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Peace in Afghanistan will be achieved only by leadership of government and participation of Afghan nation, he said, speaking in the Heart of Asia Conference in Baku on Friday.
“Confronting extremist violence and terrorism needs united and firm response by all countries.”
He said since the previous round of conference held last year considerable efforts have been made by Afghan government, but threats from foreign terrorist groups and increased attacks by Daesh terrorists have intensified challenges in Afghanistan.
He then referred to Iran’s proposal for determining a common strategy to counter terrorism as an operational framework for countries participating in the conference, saying that, “We expect the draft of the strategy to be investigated and approved by public experts and senior officials here. This strategy could be a solid infrastructure for cooperation in confronting terrorism and extremism.”
