Tehran, YJC. Chomsky says Islamic figures have to condemn ISIS atrocity.

American Professor and intellectual Noam Chomsky has stated that Islamic clerics have to speak in contempt of what the ISIS vents upon Iraq, according to Mehr News Agency.

As the ISIS continues to further its progress in the Iraqi soil, Mehr News Agency in what it says to have been an interview with Chomsky has related the American linguist and political commentator.

Taking the ISIS’s reading of the Quran as the basis for their actions, the interviewer asked Chomsky if there is a responsibility upon Islamic figures around the world to show reaction against the ISIS.

In answer Chomsky said that the most important duty upon Islamic clerics and intellectuals is to enlighten the public mind of the realities of the issue.

Stressing that Islamic scholars need to make people acquainted with the real teachings of Islam, he added that the other vital duty for them is to immediately condemn the ISIS for its violent actions.

He added that groups such as the ISIS are defiling Islam for their own criminal ends.

Islam is being used as a cover for their savage actions, he maintained.
