Tehran, YJC. Mehdi Chamran has said that he deems the tripartite coalition more powerful than others for administering country.

Speaking to members of the Central Council of the Islamic Association of Tehran University Independent Students, Chamran said in answer to a question as who among the principalists would be able to compete with Mashaee "This issue depends on a lot of things and I think that some candidates from other parties are not strong enough. I think that the tripartite coalition is more powerful for managing the country.”

Chairman of the City Council of Tehran added "The government is currently a separate unit. It appears that Mr. Ahmadinejad intends to introduce Mashaee, but I do not know the nature of this.”

"Certainly the tripartite coalition will do the same. If they want to choose someone, he will come from among themselves. They prefer themselves,” he further said.

Chamran also asserted "Who would come, though, depends on what opinions the candidates and the volunteers have, because the presidential elections are not like those of the Majlis or councils and not many candidates should run for them. It is the same everywhere around the world. In the US elections are held between two, so presidential elections must not face a multiplicity of candidates.”

The tripartite coalition consists of Akbar Velayati, Mohsen Ghalibaf, and Gholamali Haddad Adel.
