The system can also be used in investigating neuromuscular systems problems and movement disorders.

Dr. Mohammad-Ali Ahmadi-Pajouh, the lead author of the study and assistance professor at Amir-Kabir University said the device named Electromyogram (EMG) is used to register muscle activities.

The device with a wide range of applications helps diagnosis of movement disorders and physical medicine improvement, he added.

The system of multi-electrode type is equipped with many electrodes and is capable of reporting movements of skin muscles, he said.

Using the system, it is possible to present complete information about muscles and their movements, he said, adding it can be used in giving command to artificial limbs as well as investigating reflexes and controlling prosthesis.
