TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -The congressman on Saturday held a town hall meeting and played several recorded threatening messages sent to him at his offices in Texas and Washington, DC.

"You'll be hanging from a tree," one caller said in a voicemail.

"You ain't going to impeach nobody," the person added. "Try it and we will lynch all of you."

Most of the he callers used racial slurs against the African American lawmaker, and addressed him with the n-word over his strong stance on Trump’s divisive policies.

"We are not going to be intimidated," Green said Saturday after playing threatening messages. "We are not going to allow this to cause us to deviate from what we believe to be the right thing to do and that is to proceed with the impeachment of President Trump."

Addressing his fellow Representatives in Congress on Wednesday, Green said that the impeachment of Trump was necessary for liberty and justice for all and "the government of the people, for the people, by the people.”

Trump sacked Comey earlier this month citing his handling of the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while at the State Department.

The dismissal sent raised concerns in Washington, DC, with critics accusing Trump of trying to thwart the FBI investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the US 2016 presidential election and his possible collusion with the Kremlin during the election campaign.

Trump’s adviser, however, has dismissed reports about ongoing investigations into possible links between the Trump campaign and Russia as mere "propaganda".

"It’s not news, it’s not reporting, it’s just propaganda," Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Trump and his adviser on counter-terrorism, said on Saturday.
