Tehran, YJC. Mohammadreza Bahonar has said that he will quit the electoral stage if he feels his presence would harm the Principalist community.

Deputy Speaker of the Majlis said in interview with Fars news reporter in Bojnurd, regarding the President’s fourth round of provincial trips "There is criticism directed at the trips. Although the trips are good in nature, one must notice their electoral aspects as the elections draw on.”

He added "After all Ahmadinejad is a political figure and the future administration is important to him. Last year he launched a website where he introduced the 20-year administration issue, where his interpretation was a kind of support for a chosen candidate and collection of polls for making decisions on these administrations.”

He also pointed to Principalist candidates’ commitment to decisions made by the Principalists and added "The moment I feel that my presence may harm the Principalist community I will pull back. One must not sacrifice collective Principalist interests for personal benefit.”
